Unveiling Royalty

So glad to finally be able to share this…

Character Bust

This is the latest sketch out of my toned paper sketchbook. I slowly worked at it here and there so that’s why it took so long to post… I forgot how much time can be spent on an actual finished quality drawing. Anyways, not much else to say. Just glad I’m feeling more comfortable with values because next comes color.

One of my latest sketches…

I decided to sketch while waiting for my girlfriend to straighten her hair… it was a win win situation :) Since I wasn’t at my house and this was in her mini scrapbook, I was only able to snap a photo of the sketch instead of the whole scan and Photoshop treatment. This drawing reminded me of the importance of cross-hatching across the form to give it more uhhh… form. Enjoy.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a sketch I started in my toned paper sketchbook. Can’t wait to share.

Audobon Magazine

I got featured! :D Thanks to these guys…

Harpy Eagle

Barn Owl

Just want to take a few minutes out of my day to mention that I had a little feature recently on one of Audobon Magazine’s blogs. I’m not too sure what the term is for the blog I was in, but it wasn’t their main blog. It’s like a side thing titled “Bird’s Make the Art” where they just feature artists who happen to have some birds in their body of work. Anyways, thought I’d share and encourage anyone to visit this blog. Big shout out to Michele Wilson Berger who made this happen :)
